About Me

I’m Vanessa, a chocoholic with 5 kids trying to survive motherhood.  I love  DIY projects, sewing, photography, doing fun activities with my kids, vegging in front of the TV, horses, and butterflies.

My favorite candy is Reisens and my favorite ice cream is chocolate with pretzels, marshmallows, peanut butter, and chocolate chips.

I love creating things myself, so if I find something that I’d like to add to my home, I will recreate it and feel proud of what I made.  Sewing is very exciting for me.  I enjoy making things for myself or others and feel rewarded when others compliment on what I created. I also feel like I have an artistic mind and could have been an architect in another life.  My husband is a civil engineer by day and woodworker by night, so anything I can think up, he can build for me.  I think we make a pretty good team.

I have loved photography since high school and have enjoyed learning how to take great pictures of my kids, and you can too.

I home school our five children and we do some pretty fun activities together.  We like field trips, science experiments, reading books in the car, arts and crafts, and having the freedom to learn how we want.

When I need some me time, I will grab my favorite candy or ice cream and snuggle up with a blanket while watching TV.

I absolutely love horses and plan to live on a farm with lots of horses, hopefully while my kids are still young.

As a child, I learned my name means butterfly, and ever since I’ve become enthralled with them. They are such beautiful and delicate creatures.

I hate dishes, laundry, grocery shopping, and cleaning my house because they are never ending!

I’m a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and love to be inspired by our church leaders.
